Description

I was watching some newfangled Pokemon movie the other day (I don't remember the name or number, some scheisse about Princess Diana teaming up with a Chernobyl deer to defeat angry Legendary Pokemon no. 82 with the power of friendship and bling.) when I finally noticed why exactly the Pokemon in the newer movies look so out of place: they don't match with the backgrounds. The Pokemon, smoother animation aside, are identical to their series counterparts, whereas the backgrounds are practically photo realistic and much darker. How do smaller Pokemon keep themselves from getting eaten when they stick out like a circus clown at a funeral? If you want to blend in you've gotta at least break up your figure with some spots or stripes.

That got me thinking, wasn't Charmander based on a salamander? Don't salamanders have splotches? I wonder what a splotchy Charmander would look like... why do I get the impression he's the offspring of those Charizards from the previous deviation, and he's PO'd because somebody called his mother a "dirty Ditto?" xD

Gee, I've been doing an awful lot of Pokemon fanart lately, haven't I? Guess it's about time I made a folder. Say, how're you Volk liking this new lineart style? The idea was to make it look rough like the Pokemon illustrations, but... I think it's a little too choppy. There doesn't really appear to be a middle ground with the brush I'm using, it's either Smooth Sailing or Earthquake Test.

Since you spot splotches on charmander it reminded of the mew-two strikes back movie. Where he make clones.
