Mystic Heart Dragon

Description

Full Name: Mystic Heart Dragon
Age: Young adult
Gender: Female
Colouration: Thistle with (somewhat faded) light and dark Purple Mountain's Majesty markings. Her hair tuft, irises, outer wings and inner-wing feather tips are a faded, more reddish version of the colour fandango.
Caring Mission: Her superior size, strength, and her ability to fly without the use of a rainbow roller or cloud car has made Mystic Heart into a well-rounded multi-purposed Family member capable of handling various different types of missions. But for whatever reason she is sent down to Earth one thing is forever certain: whether she's gently applying a band-aid to the scraped knee of a four year old boy or air-lifting an elderly woman out from the top portion of a burning apartment complex to safety, Mystic is sure to put only her best into every mission she carries out!
Tummy Symbol: An upside-down heart in the form of a very elaborate piece of silver and gold jewelry set with precious iridescent gem stones.
Personality & Misc. Info: affectionate, impish, devoted, discerning, adventurous, reliable, humane and compassionate. Because of her larger than average size (most Care Bear Family members typically average at about three feet tall at maturity, meaning that the tops of their heads would only reach up to the hip area of the average adult human.) and also the fact that she is a dragon (it really seems to get peoples attention!) have made her one of the most popular, well known, and most easily recognizable residents of the Kingdom of Caring. As a matter of fact, she's essentially the unofficial Care Bear Family mascot. An unhatched Mystic Heart was first discovered and subsequently taken in by the Care Bear Family during a spying/stealth oriented infiltration operation on No Heart's ominous castle keep. Not having any clue as to the egg's original owner, origins, or even what species of animal had brought it into the world, they opted simply to take the egg back to the Kingdom of Caring, look after it as best they could, and come to a decision if and when it hatched. The enraged sorcerer did not relinquish it without a fight, but at the end of the day good triumphed over evil. Given that it had previously belonged to a wicked warlock they had anticipated that the egg's occupant most probably was not going to be a harmless baby ostrich of some variety... but even still, a mythical animal of legend wasn't quite what they were anticipating! Even more astounding was the creature's transformation into a being of their own kind. Still, Mystic Heart became an official member of the Care Bear Family very shortly afterward and everyone quickly grew fond of their perplexing new addition... they even became quite accustomed to the idea of real flesh-and-blood dragons! After all if a sentient cloud-dwelling race of little talking bipedal animals can exist, then what makes dragons so special? It took very little time indeed for the Family to come to a decision over which member(s) the dragon's upbringing should to be entrusted to, as True Heart seemed decidedly intent on adopting her. You see, newborns need twenty-four hour monitoring and tireless attention, and Grams was busy enough as it was just trying to keep an eye on Hugs and Tugs. Cheer Bear and Treat Heart, although they had had a little experience by cubsitting Hugs and Tugs, were indubitably too young and too light-headed for the job. Thus it was agreed that the whelp's guardianship ought best to be given to the founders, who at the time were expecting their first child. Luckily, since in the past the two of them had raised the entire Care Bear Family whilst also playing the role of sworn defenders of caring for the people of Earth, parenting two small cubs didn't even qualify as a challenge. Since becoming aware of her pregnancy, True Heart had often fretted over the unborn child's future social life: there wouldn't be any younger cub's within the baby's age range that might become playmates with it, a nagging worry which Mystic Heart's adoption had finally laid to rest! Thus Mystic Heart - or "Myst", as the CBF would come to know her - was taken in by True Heart and her spouse Noble Heart mere weeks before Valiant Heart Horse's birth. Both horse and dragon have been practically glued to each other ever since, much to the delight of their mother. To this day no one can be entirely certain as to what the evil sorcerer No Heart had originally intended to do with this fantastic beast or where her true origins lie. The mystical obscurity which surrounds her identity is what came to inspire her name.
